It's about finding a match
Be The Match® offers people the unique opportunity to help a patient by donating bone marrow or umbilical cord blood. Thousands of patients with leukemia and other life-threatening diseases depend on the Be The Match Registry® to find a match.
The more people who join the Be The Match community, the more patients we will help -- together.
The Icla da Silva Foundation was established in June of 1992, as a nonprofit organization under section 501(c) 3 of the IRS Code.
The organization honors the life of a thirteen-year-old Brazilian girl who passed away after bravely fighting leukemia despite all her family's, friends', and neighbors' efforts to find her a matching donor.
Icla's last wishes, enthusiasm, and everlasting hope deeply inspire the Icla da Silva Foundation's programs and activities. In the last 17 years, the Foundation has grown to become one of the largest recruitment organizations for the Be the Match Registry, helping create a more ethnically diverse registry and fostering hope for patients and their families.
